Requirements

• Belief in the mission and values of InspireNOLA
• Bachelor’s degree (required)
• Expertise in a content area and strong classroom management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with the school team, families, and community members
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of teaching experience (preferred)
• Louisiana Teacher Certification or in progress; (preferred)
• Proven success in raising the achievement levels of historically under-served students
• Desire to continuously improve instructional practices and willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design and implement rigorous unit and engaging lesson plans that incorporate all components of the InspireNOLA instructional model
• Create a structured, achievement-oriented learning environment, and develop a positive rapport with students
• Utilize student data to drive instruction, re-teaching, and classroom interventions
• Exemplify InspireNOLA’s core values in all interactions with students and their families to demonstrate your commitment to students’ academic and behavioral success
• Proactively manage student behavioral issues and adhere to school policies for infractions and incentives
• Participate enthusiastically in structured and informal learning and development opportunities, including seeking and accepting continual feedback from staff and administration
• Consistently engage in school-based professional development sessions (cluster and data review meetings) as well as additional professional development opportunities offered by the InspireNOLA Support Team office
• Perform other additional duties as specified
