About The Position

The Secondary Science Teacher reports to the Principal and provides effective science instruction while supporting students' academic and individual learning needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree and valid New Jersey instructional certificate or Statement of Eligibility appropriate for science instruction.
NJDOE Science Certification
Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and differentiated instruction.
Ability to maintain a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
NJDOE-required fingerprinting and criminal history clearance.

Nice To Haves

TOH or TOSD certification preferred.
Other qualifications as determined appropriate by the Principal and/or Executive Director.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with New Jersey standards and the school curriculum.
Develop and adapt lessons to meet individual student needs and learning profiles.
Implement student IEP goals and accommodations and maintain accurate student records.
Use differentiated and multisensory instructional strategies to support student learning.
Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
Maintain a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment.
Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and other professionals to support student needs.
Attend IEP meetings, staff meetings, professional development, and required school activities.
Supervise students as assigned.
Support the mission, philosophy, policies, and educational goals of The Newgrange School.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or Administration.
