About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for performing tasks involving the shipping and receiving finished materials. This role operates mechanical forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock picker lift trucks. The position also involves operating and maintaining RF Scanners, accurately selecting and completing orders, and ensuring products are correctly labeled and identified for proper storing and use. Daily shipments must be picked, counts verified, pallets wrapped or stacked neatly for pick-ups, and marked accordingly for customer, transportation, and location of shipment. The Material Handler will load finished goods onto trailers within specified timeframes and maintain an accurate inventory of finished products and supplies in the warehouse. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines, as well as following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP training, SOPs, and SSOPs. The role also includes cleaning and maintaining the warehouse floor and facilities as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
  • 1-3 Months related manufacturing or food experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse and lift trucks experience.
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain, purchasing, materials, and/or Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of SAP.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Work well with others.
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; must work effectively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Operating mechanical forklifts, pallet jacks, and stock picker lift trucks.
  • Operating and maintaining RF Scanner (handheld warehouse computer).
  • Accurate and timely selecting of orders.
  • Accurately completing work order sheets.
  • Notify supervisor or FSQ of discrepancies.
  • Ensure products are correctly labeled and identified for proper storing and use.
  • Distribute the items received to the person or department for which the item was ordered.
  • Daily shipments must be picked, counts verified, pallets wrapped or stacked neatly for pick-ups, marked accordingly to customer, transportation and location of shipment.
  • Load finished goods onto trailer within specified timeframe.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of finished products and supplies in the warehouse.
  • Operate a Forklift, Pallet Jack, and/or Strait Truck.
  • Follow daily production schedule and achieve specified goals.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) training, along with company pre-requisite programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).
  • Cleaning and maintaining warehouse floor and facilities as needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Following set company and OSHA safety rules, regulations, and guidelines at all times.
