The Secondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher (grades 6-12) is responsible for the instruction of designated CTE content area(s)/course(s) in a classroom setting within a secondary school (grade 6-12). All district employees must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance, support the district’s vision, mission, goals, and Strategic Plan, engage in civility, respect, and professionalism, and maintain the professional knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties. The teacher designs and implements appropriate instruction, creates a positive educational climate, delivers relevant and rigorous lessons, utilizes diverse teaching practices, observes and evaluates student performance, manages student behavior, communicates with parents and school/district personnel, takes precautions for student health and safety, maintains confidential records, and maintains appropriate certifications and professional development hours. The role also involves engaging with local business and community partners, participating as a CTSO advisor, and engaging in continuous improvement and professional development, including earning industry certifications. Other duties may be assigned.
