This position offers an opportunity to take on a leadership role to support daily operations within our second shift that includes CNC operators and Assembly Techs. The ideal candidate will serve as a role model for quality, accountability, and teamwork, and will help drive performance and process improvement across the floor.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience in a production manufacturing environment preferred.
Proven ability to read blueprints and work with fabrication tools and machinery.
Demonstrated leadership qualities, with a focus on teamwork, accountability, and communication.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
Comfortable completing paperwork and using computer applications related to production tracking such as ERP/MES systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Provide on-the-floor guidance and daily coordination for team members to ensure efficient execution of production tasks.
Act as a resource and mentor for newer employees, assisting with onboarding, training, and skill development.
Serve as a point of communication between the production team and supervisors/engineering, helping to resolve issues and keep priorities aligned.
Monitor progress against production goals and adjust assignments as needed to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Assist with administrative functions including shift handoff reporting, inventory tracking, and verifying time entries.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure fabrication requirements have been met.
Inspect materials before processing to ensure compliance with specifications.
Set up and safely operate shop equipment including saws, drills, sanders, and shaping tools.
Perform quality audit to ensure that assembly and CNC operators are in compliance with ABG’s quality measures.
Ensure completion of preventative maintenance of tools, equipment, and machines is completed to limit unplanned downtime events and that all operators safely operate each day.
Complete required safety, quality, and inventory documentation.
Track fabrication completion of work out of work centers to ensure a clean hand off to first shift and shipping team.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying areas for enhanced efficiency, safety, or quality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues during fabrication or assembly.
Use fabrication systems to drive insights on how to optimize daily operations.
Apply strong knowledge of carpentry principles and shop math to solve technical challenges.
