This position offers an opportunity to take on a leadership role to support daily operations within our second shift that includes CNC operators and Assembly Techs. The ideal candidate will serve as a role model for quality, accountability, and teamwork, and will help drive performance and process improvement across the floor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a production manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proven ability to read blueprints and work with fabrication tools and machinery.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, with a focus on teamwork, accountability, and communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Comfortable completing paperwork and using computer applications related to production tracking such as ERP/MES systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-floor guidance and daily coordination for team members to ensure efficient execution of production tasks.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for newer employees, assisting with onboarding, training, and skill development.
  • Serve as a point of communication between the production team and supervisors/engineering, helping to resolve issues and keep priorities aligned.
  • Monitor progress against production goals and adjust assignments as needed to meet deadlines and quality standards.
  • Assist with administrative functions including shift handoff reporting, inventory tracking, and verifying time entries.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure fabrication requirements have been met.
  • Inspect materials before processing to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Set up and safely operate shop equipment including saws, drills, sanders, and shaping tools.
  • Perform quality audit to ensure that assembly and CNC operators are in compliance with ABG’s quality measures.
  • Ensure completion of preventative maintenance of tools, equipment, and machines is completed to limit unplanned downtime events and that all operators safely operate each day.
  • Complete required safety, quality, and inventory documentation.
  • Track fabrication completion of work out of work centers to ensure a clean hand off to first shift and shipping team.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying areas for enhanced efficiency, safety, or quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues during fabrication or assembly.
  • Use fabrication systems to drive insights on how to optimize daily operations.
  • Apply strong knowledge of carpentry principles and shop math to solve technical challenges.
