About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Team Lead to oversee daily powder coating operations and ensure high-quality finishing standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to train and guide team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in powder coating or industrial finishing.
  • Strong understanding of powder coating materials, equipment, and curing processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection techniques.
  • Strong communication and team‑leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous leadership or lead‑hand experience preferred.
  • Experience with automated powder coating systems.
  • Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment adjustments and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the powder coating team.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain powder coating equipment, spray guns, and curing ovens.
  • Oversee the full pretreatment process, including cleaning, degreasing, rinsing, and chemical application to ensure proper surface preparation.
  • Monitor pretreatment equipment (wash system, tanks, pumps, chemical levels) and ensure all stages meet required specifications.
  • Perform and document titrations, pH checks, devise calibration and other pretreatment quality tests.
  • Ensure parts are properly dried and prepared before coating to prevent defects.
  • Ensure proper surface preparation, coating thickness, and finish quality according to specifications.
  • Inspect completed parts for defects, consistency, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Train new and existing employees on powder coating processes, safety procedures, and equipment use.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate maintenance when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Document production data, quality checks, and material usage.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other departments to improve workflow and efficiency.
