About The Position

St. Mary Catholic School in Royal Oak is searching for a knowledgeable, enthusiastic, nurturing, and faith-filled teacher for a second grade self-contained classroom position. We are a growing, vibrant, Christ-focused preschool through 8th grade school community located in downtown Royal Oak. Position is full-time and includes healthcare benefits. Position begins August 17, 2026. Interviews planned beginning July 27, 2026. Must be a Catholic in good standing, willing and able to share our Catholic faith with creativity and joy, in an age-appropriate manner.

Requirements

Valid Michigan teaching certificate
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) including all courses and state tests needed to meet credential requirements
Catechist certification required for all teachers of religion (may be completed within 1 year of hire)
Fingerprinting, background check, and completion of Protecting God’s Children training required prior to working with students
Certified and/or approved for teaching by the Michigan Department of Education.
Hold the appropriate endorsement(s) for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach.
Must be a Catholic in good standing.
