Seattle Parks and Recreation is hiring a Supervisor for the Seattle Conservation Corps (SCC), a yearlong transitional employment program for adults experiencing homelessness. SCC provides participants with job skills and work experience in a supportive, structured program, and generates more than 50% of its operating costs through participant labor. The Supervisor leads public work crews and coordinates projects that strengthen Seattle’s infrastructure and community spaces, including green stormwater installations, park improvements, landscaping, restoration, and related assignments. The role plans, coordinates, and supervises staff, participants, and volunteers, and reports to the Sr. Supervisor and Crew Chief. The position involves training and evaluating participants, providing work-skills and life-skills instruction, and referring participants to support services when needed. It also includes coordinating with City departments, agencies, and community groups; overseeing projects and neighborhood cleanups; preparing reports and cost estimates; and conducting presentations and outreach. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather and can involve physical labor, hazardous materials, heavy traffic, and occasional work at night, in the evening, on weekends, or on holidays.
