About The Position

As a Seasonal Yard Driver, you will safely and efficiently operate tractors and trailers in the yard, moving trailers to doors and other yard locations. The role requires skillfully backing trailers into dock and yard locations, hooking and unhooking trailers, and communicating with Dispatch, Yard Coordinators, and Operation Managers by radio. You will perform routine vehicle safety inspections, follow safety procedures and protocols, and complete assigned tasks accurately and on time. Job duties may change based on business needs.

Requirements

• Possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license before starting the role.
• Maintain a positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
• Be able to lift and carry materials or equipment up to 30 lbs. frequently and equipment up to 60 lbs. infrequently.
• Be able to work independently, quickly, and safely.
• Be able to problem-solve and escalate issues when needed.
• Have knowledge of tractor and trailer functions and systems.
• Be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
• Be able to operate all equipment safely.
• Be able to read trailer information, including trailer numbers, and understand safety procedures and protocols.
• Have basic math skills.
• Be able to operate computer systems with minimal direction after receiving training.

Nice To Haves

• A CDL is preferred but not required.
