Seasonal Sales Associate NF1 (Flex)

U.S. Marine Corps•Arlington, VA

About The Position

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) seeks Sales Associates to support its retail operations and provide service to Marines, their families, and the broader Marine Corps Community. Sales Associates are customer-facing service providers who assist customers throughout the retail business in a friendly, professional, and proactive manner, with the goal of building customer loyalty and achieving positive customer outcomes. Associates may be scheduled in different areas of the facility according to business needs, including cashiering or self-checkout, customer service, salesfloor and department support, stockroom and backroom work, and military clothing. Work may take place indoors, outdoors, or inside coolers and chillers; limited time durations and appropriate personal protective equipment are provided for cooler and chiller work. Associates regularly assigned to particular areas are expected to develop basic product knowledge. The role supports daily store operations, including customer and register transactions, planogram changes and setups, identifying missing products, replenishing sales floors and coolers, setting promotional signage, visual merchandising, maintaining backroom standards through the 5S program, and other operational tasks. Light housekeeping, including sweeping, dusting, and trash removal, may also be assigned. Associates receive mentoring, guidance, and training from specialists and are expected to learn from and seek guidance from specialists and supervisors. Associates use basic retail equipment such as cash registers, time clocks, RF scanners, mobile printers, handheld price-labeling units, box cutters, signage equipment, peg hooks, shelves, and mobile stocking carts. They assist with year-end inventory, identify and communicate potential loss or theft risks, and may need additional training or certifications for assigned work, including food safety or fuel-related duties. The role also involves promoting Marine Corps and MCX programs, engaging positively with teammates, supporting customer satisfaction, and adhering to safety, equal employment opportunity, and anti-harassment standards. This is a mixed position requiring the ability to lift and carry objects up to 45 pounds independently and heavier objects with assistance.
