About The Position

Help keep the landscaping in our parks and medians clean, safe and beautiful this Summer! The City of Louisville has: 37 Parks totaling 355 acres 13 Playgrounds 11 Tennis courts 7 Basketball courts Multi use rink for Pickle ball Skate park 14 Athletic Fields Bee City USA designation; need your help to promote pollinators The Season begins on April 20 and runs through October 16. The position's schedule is Monday- Friday 6am to 2:30pm. Our ideal candidate would be available to work through the end of the season. A safety toed boot reimbursement of $75 is available. Under the general supervision of the Parks Supervisor and other full-time Parks staff, performs work in maintaining the City's grounds by mowing, trimming, pruning, ground and irrigation system maintenance, and painting. This position will utilize a variety of related maintenance equipment such as weed trimmers, lawn tractors and miscellaneous hand tools. Performs other work as required. Requirements

All candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license an acceptable driving record for continued employment.
Able to utilize weed trimmer, lawn tractor, skid steer and miscellaneous hand tools.
Knowledge of and willingness to apply work safety rules and procedures.
Ability and experience in the safe operation of tools, equipment and vehicles.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, citizens, and contractors.

Nice To Haves

Some mowing, landscaping and/or irrigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs mowing, trimming and planting.
Prepares and maintains park areas including picking up trash.
Maintains landscape and irrigation systems.
Performs some painting, carpentry, and masonry work.
Operates maintenance equipment such as riding mowers, hand mowers, weed trimmers, pruning tools, aerators, sprayers, etc.
