About The Position

Help keep the landscaping in our parks and medians clean, safe and beautiful this Summer! The City of Louisville has: 37 Parks totaling 355 acres 13 Playgrounds 11 Tennis courts 7 Basketball courts Multi use rink for Pickle ball Skate park 14 Athletic Fields Bee City USA designation; need your help to promote pollinators The Season begins on April 20 and runs through October 16. The position's schedule is Monday- Friday 6am to 2:30pm. Our ideal candidate would be available to work through the end of the season. A safety toed boot reimbursement of $75 is available. Under the general supervision of the Parks Supervisor and other full-time Parks staff, performs work in maintaining the City's grounds by mowing, trimming, pruning, ground and irrigation system maintenance, and painting. This position will utilize a variety of related maintenance equipment such as weed trimmers, lawn tractors and miscellaneous hand tools. Performs other work as required. Requirements

  • All candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license an acceptable driving record for continued employment.
  • Able to utilize weed trimmer, lawn tractor, skid steer and miscellaneous hand tools.
  • Knowledge of and willingness to apply work safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability and experience in the safe operation of tools, equipment and vehicles.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, citizens, and contractors.

Nice To Haves

  • Some mowing, landscaping and/or irrigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs mowing, trimming and planting.
  • Prepares and maintains park areas including picking up trash.
  • Maintains landscape and irrigation systems.
  • Performs some painting, carpentry, and masonry work.
  • Operates maintenance equipment such as riding mowers, hand mowers, weed trimmers, pruning tools, aerators, sprayers, etc.
