About The Position
Menchey Music Service, a company serving students, parents, and music educators since 1936, is seeking a Seasonal Orchestral String Instrument Repair Assistant for Summer/Fall 2026. This temporary position is based at our Operations Center in Hanover, PA. The role involves cleaning and refurbishing returned and new string instruments to prepare them for rental or sale. The ideal candidate has a passion for music and experience with string instruments. This position offers daytime hours, 3-5 days per week, from August through October.
Requirements
- Orchestral string instrument playing experience required.
- On the job training provided.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean instrument and case.
- Identify any repairs or adjustments that need to be made to the instrument.
- Improve cosmetic appearance of instrument.
- Examine case, repair/replace as necessary.
- Change strings as needed & tune instrument.
- Replace included accessory items in case.
- Restock in warehouse once prep is completed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
