About The Position

The Menchey School of Music, part of Menchey Music Service, is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable multi-instrumental orchestral string instructor to join their team at the Gambrills studio. This is an opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building strong student relationships, creating engaging lessons, and being part of a music-centered community that values education. The school offers high-quality music instruction in a welcoming, organized, and supportive studio environment, with established marketing and enrollment systems providing a steady flow of students. They also provide full administrative support, private teaching studios, on-site support from a Studio Coordinator, frequent recitals, and performance opportunities.

Requirements

  • A strong musical background demonstrated by at least 2 years of college-level music training, 5 years of teaching or professional performance experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • Ability to successfully complete an initial background check, as well as recurring background checks every three years as a condition of employment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including professional and timely email communication.
  • Confidence and effectiveness in delivering one-on-one instruction.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Comfortability using a digital scheduling system.
  • Warm, energetic, and professional presence that reflects the company culture and mission.
  • Patience, flexibility, and the ability to connect with students of all ages and skill levels.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in music education, performance, or a related field is preferred; candidates currently working toward a degree are also encouraged to apply.
  • Experience working with a variety of learners of all ages and skill levels is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging, personalized, and effective private lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
  • Create a positive, encouraging, and educational lesson environment.
  • Help students grow musically, prepare for recitals, and inspire participation in performance opportunities.
  • Communicate timely and professionally with students, parents, and staff.
  • Keep accurate attendance and lesson records using a digital scheduling system.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and enthusiasm every day.
