Mandarin Private Lessons Teacher
About The Position
Kingsley Montessori School is seeking a Mandarin Private Lessons Teacher for their After School Music Program, beginning September 2026. This role is for teaching beginning and intermediate students in Grades K-6 (ages 5-12). The ideal candidate will have experience working with and teaching very young students. The teaching approach should be holistic, emphasizing vocabulary, grammar, syntax, pronunciation, reading and writing comprehension, and cultural integration. Students will be guided to take ownership of their practice regimen. Hours vary between 3-6 PM, Monday-Friday, based on enrollment and teacher availability. Teachers will provide one-on-one weekly lessons.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with a variety of instructional methods and multi-age learning environments
- Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design and development
- Commitment to meeting the needs of each student
- Commitment to professional growth and best practices in education
- Experience working with and teaching very young students is required.
- Demonstrated fluency in Mandarin.
- Ability to provide a teaching demonstration video of a 30-minute one-on-one lesson with a student age 5-12.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one weekly Mandarin lessons to students in Grades K-6 (ages 5-12).
- Instruct students in vocabulary, grammar, syntax, pronunciation, and reading and writing comprehension.
- Integrate cultural components into lessons.
- Guide students to take ownership of their own practice regimen.
- Develop and implement lesson plans for beginner and intermediate students.
- Create a 6- to 8-week trajectory plan for student lessons.
