The Métis Nation–Saskatchewan Home and Future Forests Initiative aim to encourage and advance tree planting in Saskatchewan. New planting efforts being pursed through this program will contribute to the restoration of habitat and provide a multitude of other social, cultural, environmental and economic benefits. Under the general supervision of the Climate Projects Specialist, the Seasonal Labourer will directly assist with the planting and care of 10,000 trees on the festival grounds at the Batoche National Historic Site. Work activities include preparation for planting, tree planting and ongoing seedling care and maintenance. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about horticulture, climate action, and Métis culture while gaining practical experience in the field.
