About The Position
The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks one Seasonal Laborer I at Emmons Horrigan O'Neil Memorial Rink. The position performs and assists with grounds and facility maintenance in connection with conservation and maintenance work. The stated season runs from November 15, 2026, through April 11, 2027. If the selected employee works fewer than 90 days, the position will automatically revert to a short-term seasonal position, and the salary rate will be discussed during the interview. Salaries are based on a full-time, 40-hour workweek; schedules and days off are set at the supervisor's discretion. Weekend and/or holiday work may be required.
Requirements
- Minimum entrance requirements: None.
- May be required, based on assignment, to possess a current and valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist with grounds and facility maintenance, including cutting grass, raking leaves, watering, painting, rubbish removal, restroom cleaning, and beautification of parks, campgrounds, reservations, beaches, and facilities.
- Use a variety of hand tools as needed.
- Operate motor vehicles and light trucks, including loading and unloading supplies and equipment, as needed.
- Greet and assist park visitors and provide information about the facility.
- Collect fees based on assignment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
