About The Position
The Department of Conservation and Recreation is hiring a Seasonal Recreation Facilities Supervisor I at Devine Memorial Rink for the 2026–2027 winter season, with a stated start date of November 15, 2026, and end date of April 11, 2027. The position performs facility maintenance and safety duties, monitors recreational areas, handles fees and daily income reporting, maintains work records, operates and maintains equipment and vehicles, and provides information to park visitors. The position is based on a 40-hour workweek for salary purposes; the supervisor determines work schedules and days off. Weekend and/or holiday work may be required. If the selected employee works fewer than 90 days, the role automatically reverts to a short-term position, and the salary rate will be discussed during the interview.
Requirements
- Minimum entrance requirements: None.
- Based on assignment, possess a current and valid CPR Certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Based on assignment, possess a current and valid Standard First Aid and Personal Safety Certificate issued by the American Red Cross.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance to keep the facility clean, safe, and well maintained, including cleaning restrooms and buildings and removing snow.
- Work with employees on facility projects as needed.
- Patrol recreational areas and facilities to maintain security and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and policies.
- Collect and account for fees collected during the shift and report all income daily through the DCR reporting system while on duty.
- Maintain records and prepare reports concerning assigned work, providing information and appropriate recommendations.
- Operate and perform routine maintenance on various types of equipment and vehicles.
- Provide information to the general public and accurate information to park visitors about available park-related activities.
- Use small hand tools.
