About The Position

The National Western Stock Show thrives on the dedication and commitment of seasonal staff who help to ensure the success of our annual event. As a seasonal HR Assistant, you will play an essential role in recruiting, onboarding, and managing 500+ seasonal employees. You’ll assist with completing new-hire paperwork, answering staff questions, and ensuring all employee files are accurate and compliant. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, has a passion for people, and can manage multiple priorities with ease.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in human resources or administrative support is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with HR practices and processes is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the recruitment process for seasonal employees, including posting job openings and coordinating interviews.
  • Supports the onboarding process by preparing new-hire paperwork, ensuring timely completion, and collecting necessary documentation.
  • Responds to inquiries from staff regarding employment details, onboarding, and general HR-related questions.
  • Audits new hire files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with organizational policies and state regulations.
  • Assists with the setup and maintenance of employee records, both digital and physical.
  • Provides administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling, filing, and data entry as needed.
