About The Position

This seasonal position maintains a clean, safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment by performing routine housekeeping and custodial duties. Work includes cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas, stocking supplies, disposing of waste, moving furniture and equipment as needed, and supporting facility operations while promoting the health, safety, and comfort of visitors, guests, and staff.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• A valid driver’s license is required at some locations.
• Scheduled hours require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on agency needs.
• Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist while performing housekeeping and cleaning duties.
• Regularly use hands and arms to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, and operate cleaning equipment and tools.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly, with occasional assistance for heavier items.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed to clean assigned areas.
• Safely climb stairs and use ladders or step stools when required.
• Operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, floor buffers, mops, and other cleaning tools.
• Work indoors and outdoors with exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, dust, cleaning chemicals, and other environmental conditions.
• Maintain sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to perform duties safely, recognize hazards, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, wash, vacuum, wax, and polish floors, walls, woodwork, windows, furniture, and hardware.
• Clean and sanitize washrooms and bedrooms, and keep washrooms supplied with paper, towels, and soap.
• Operate washing machines and dryers using appropriate settings and temperatures.
• Fold and iron linens and towels.
• Collect and dispose of trash and garbage.
• Move equipment and furniture, including beds, tables, and chairs, to clean effectively.
• Stock housekeeping supplies.
• Observe and report safety violations and actively participate in emergency situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations and agency needs.
