About The Position
The Seasonal Host/Hostess role at Tarrytown House Estate involves meeting and greeting guests, offering seating, presenting menus, and managing reservations and special functions. The position requires an individual who can think on their feet and perform well in high-pressure situations. It is a physically demanding role, requiring the ability to be on your feet for extended periods, carry/lift up to 25 pounds, walk, bend/twist, and climb stairs. The successful candidate must also be able to accommodate varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Capable of thinking on their feet
- Able to keep up in high-pressure situations
- Ability to be on your feet a lot
- Ability to carry/lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to walk, bend/twist, climb stairs
- Ability to accommodate varying schedules including nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities
- Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer a choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu
- Record and make arrangements for reservations and any special functions
- Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book
