About The Position

Sinatra and Co. is seeking a Seasonal Groundskeeper and Landscaper to join their team. This role involves maintaining the grounds of three properties in Canandaigua, Fairport, and Brockport, NY. Responsibilities include lawn care, planting, seasonal cleanups, snow removal, and operating/maintaining landscaping equipment. The position also involves general property upkeep such as cleaning common areas, replacing light bulbs and screens, assisting with apartment make-readies, cleaning air vents, installing appliances, replacing air filters, cleaning the pool area, and performing light painting. The role requires a team player mentality and the ability to assist property management staff as needed. This list is a brief description and does not encompass all daily requirements.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience and manual labor skills necessary for job functions.
  • Ability to work exposed to various weather conditions such as snow, heat, and other regional specific climates.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment or discarded items as needed on property.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Remains professional and positive when interacting with prospects, residents, and other team members.
  • Enjoys being a team player and operates in the best interest of the organization.
  • Is proactive and thinks outside of the box for difficult repair challenges, budget constraints, and other areas of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Mowing, edging, trimming, pruning hedges/trees, weeding, and raking leaves for three properties.
  • Planting flowers, shrubs, trees, and laying sod.
  • Performing spring/fall cleanups and snow removal.
  • Using and performing minor maintenance on mowers, blowers, chainsaws.
  • Inspecting property each morning and picking up any trash, debris or feces littering the grounds, including the perimeter.
  • Keeping hallways clean: picking up trash, sweeping floors, vacuuming, dusting, removing dated notices from bulletin boards.
  • Replacing light bulbs in common areas and breezeways as needed.
  • Replacing all first-floor window screens upon request.
  • Assisting with apartment make-readies: trash vacant units, caulk, check appliances and smoke detector, replace parts.
  • Cleaning air conditioning vents and replacing filters in all vacant apartments.
  • Installing, moving, and hooking up appliances.
  • Replacing air filters as scheduled for all occupied apartments.
  • Cleaning pool area: hosing down area, picking up trash, straightening chairs.
  • Performing light painting duties as directed.
  • Assisting the Property Manager, Assistant Property Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Technician as requested.
