About The Position

The successful applicant will be a grounds keeper for the Utah State University Uintah Basin Vernal Campus. They will work with the landscaper to make sure the lawns and flower beds are aesthetically pleasing. The grounds keeper works under the direction of the Vernal landscaper. The incumbent uses discretion and independent judgment in performance duties by completing assigned duties in a timely manner and in accordance with University standards. This is an ACA Variable position. Hours of work are arranged, but are generally between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and other times as assigned. This is a seasonal position that will run as long as weather permits.

Requirements

Must be able to work under supervision and take direction from supervisors
The ability to understand and apply principles, policies, procedures, and equipment required for the job
Familiar with lawn and flower care procedures, using practices and procedures to ensure a sanitary, safe, and aesthetically pleasing facility
Employees must be able to follow directions, manage time effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining attention to detail to keep the grounds clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Be willing to take personal ownership of duties/tasks and participate in a shared vision for the success and growth of the Uintah Basin Campus.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects
Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision
