About The Position

Founded in 1888, The Baldwin School is a non-sectarian college preparatory, independent day school, PreK-Grade 12, dedicated to a tradition of excellence in all-girls education. The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for providing general routine, preventive and corrective maintenance of school buildings and campus grounds to maintain a safe, well-maintained environment for students, residents, staff and visitors.

Requirements

  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • The ability to follow verbal and written instruction; to perform basic math calculations and to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Interested candidates must possess a general mechanical aptitude and a positive customer service approach.
  • An individual in this position will be required to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Maintenance Team Members work inside and outside and are exposed to varying environmental conditions.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time and climb a ladder are necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of relevant maintenance, laborer, or related experience
  • A valid PA driver's license and the ability to operate all School vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily maintenance work orders as assigned, including but not limited to: event set up and break down, snow removal, trash removal, minor carpentry, painting, plumbing and systems repairs, etc.
  • Participates in facility preventative maintenance programs
  • Accountable for and abides by the standards set forth in The Baldwin School Employee Handbook.
  • Maintains confidentiality and rights of student, family, employee, and facility information in compliance with policies and applicable regulations.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and exhibits safe workplace best practices.
  • Interacts positively and cooperatively with students, families, visitors and other staff.
  • Performs all duties in compliance with all applicable Federal and State rules and regulations and facility policies and procedures.
  • Accepts assigned duties in a cooperative manner and willingly performs other duties as assigned
