About The Position

Blue Cross of Idaho is seeking a General Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining the company’s buildings, facilities, and equipment in an operating and functional condition. Duties may include reconfiguring of modular furniture, electrical repairs or installations, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting, plastering, masonry, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g., Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC) and sheet metal). This is an onsite position at their Meridian Idaho campus.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in a building maintenance field within a corporate environment
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Able to effectively communicate professionally, as well as be able to interpret instructions and exchange accurate information.
  • Able to comprehend written work requirements, and determine necessary actions required to meet the finished product standards.
  • Able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
  • Able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Able to work indoors or outdoors that may require exposure to inclement weather.
  • Able to move, transport, install, and remove equipment in various situations.
  • Able to occasionally ascend/descend on a ladder to help perform any necessary maintenance beyond a certain height.
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Report writing skills

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems.
  • Performs work based on dispatched service on daily/weekly work schedules.
  • Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc.).
  • Assists in the reconfiguring of modular furniture, materials, and equipment, as required.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Works with or oversees sub-contractors’ activities as directed by leadership or work schedule.
  • Ensures code and building standards are met.
  • May assist in security and janitorial services, as requested.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
