About The Position

The Seasonal Garden Shop Attendant works in the Christmas Tree Shop located in the front parking lot of a Stew Leonard’s store. The role involves preparing Christmas trees for sale, helping customers select trees, and supporting product flow, inventory, and the safe, organized operation of the receiving area. Work takes place indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, rain, or snow. The position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, bending, and moving materials, as well as occasional climbing, pulling, pushing, and reaching. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors and in cold temperatures.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and reliability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of garden center products is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Cut, tag, and tie Christmas trees.
• Help customers choose a tree and provide recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized receiving area in accordance with company safety guidelines.
• Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
• Collaborate with sales associates, managers, and greenhouse staff to support product flow and availability.
• Follow safety standards and equipment-operation protocols.
• Greet customers with a friendly, positive attitude and help them feel welcome.
• Support team members and contribute to smooth store operations.
• Help improve and maintain store efficiency.
• Represent the store’s S.T.E.W. values in interactions with customers and team members.
