Cramer Fish Sciences (CFS) is seeking a full-time Seasonal Forestry Technician to join their Portland-based team. This role will support forestry consulting and natural resource management projects, acting as the primary field lead for CFS's forestry program. The technician will work with a senior forester on tasks such as timber cruising, forest inventory, riparian assessments, and forest management plan fieldwork for various clients. CFS, a fisheries and aquatic ecology consulting firm, is expanding into forestry services, creating a unique position at the intersection of forest management and aquatic habitat science. The role involves supporting CFS's fisheries and restoration teams on cross-disciplinary projects like stream classification, riparian buffer assessments, and log sourcing for habitat restoration. Fieldwork will be primarily in Washington and Oregon, with potential for work in Idaho and Northern California. This is a field-based position, requiring technicians to spend most of their time conducting surveys and supporting operations in remote and variable outdoor environments. The position is seasonal, expected to run from June through mid-November, with exact dates dependent on project needs. Work schedules will vary. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in forestry or natural resources who are interested in integrating forest management with aquatic habitat science.
