About The Position

The Seasonal Driver operates a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell-ringing locations. The role also transports Angel Tree donations and other items as needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 40 hours per week. The position is seasonal and full-time, based in the PMC-Central Virginia Area Command in Richmond, Virginia, with travel exceeding 50%.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of experience operating an automotive vehicle, or an equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Ability to drive in heavy traffic and on extended trips.

Responsibilities

• Transport bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps.
• Pick up Angel Tree donations from various sites and transport them to the warehouse.
• Pick up and deliver miscellaneous items as needed.
• Drive carefully and observe traffic signs and road and weather conditions to ensure passenger safety.
• Fuel the vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and Salvation Army standards.
• Maintain control of passenger activities and prohibit unsafe or non-Christian behavior.
