About The Position

The Seasonal Driver operates a Salvation Army vehicle to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell-ringing locations in Frederick, Maryland. The position also supports seasonal operations by collecting Angel Tree donations and transporting miscellaneous items as needed. The role runs approximately from November 14, 2026, through December 24, 2026, and is full-time seasonal work.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience operating an automotive vehicle, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Valid state driver's license.
Medical Certificate.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to drive in heavy traffic and on extended trips.

Responsibilities

Transport bell ringers to kettle sites and the Corps.
Pick up Angel Tree donations from various sites and transport them to the warehouse.
Pick up and deliver miscellaneous items as needed.
Drive carefully and comply with traffic signs and road and weather conditions to ensure passenger safety.
Park the vehicle in a safe, clearly marked parking space and lock its doors when it is not in use.
Fuel the vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and Salvation Army standards.
Record vehicle mileage on standard forms and ensure records are accurate and complete.
Arrive according to schedule or telephone ahead when severe delays occur.
Maintain control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.
Record time for kettle pickup.
Provide Bell Ringer break relief by ringing the bell at a kettle site when needed.
Wash and clean the vehicle regularly.
Perform other related work as required.
