About The Position

The Propane Bobtail Driver safely and promptly delivers propane to residential and commercial customers. The role involves loading, unloading, and transferring propane, providing customer service, and maintaining high safety standards while handling propane. Drivers inspect and maintain vehicles and related equipment, document deliveries and inspections, use available technology to track inventory and tank information, and coordinate with the Dispatcher on routing, scheduling, and issues. This is a seasonal position with six months on and six months off. During the active season, it provides consistent full-time hours during peak heating months, with opportunities for overtime. Employees may be asked to work overtime when business needs require it. Returning for future seasons may be possible based on performance and business needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CDL Class A or B.
• Current DOT medical certification.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of delivery driver experience.
• Tanker and Hazmat endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Transfer, collect, load, and deliver propane to and from bulk trucks, tanks, and/or cylinders for customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
• Use available technology to monitor and track propane inventory, tank levels, and container sizing.
• Accurately record and print delivery tickets for delivered product and complete and submit daily driver reports where necessary.
• Maintain equipment to high safety standards and report mechanical issues to the Fleet Manager or Dispatcher.
• Conduct and, where applicable, document pre- and post-vehicle inspections, site inspections, and visual tank inspections.
• Coordinate with the Dispatcher about routing and scheduling.
• Promptly notify the Dispatcher of product, customer, routing, scheduling, or safety issues and seek guidance on resolution.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
