About The Position

The Seasonal Definer contributes to Sur La Table’s success by processing receipts to clear them for putaway. The position reports to either a Distribution Supervisor or an Operations Manager. The role involves generating accurate item and location definitions, processing receipts and putaways, and completing required procedures and documentation safely and efficiently while maintaining quality and productivity standards. The Seasonal Definer may work across functions to support daily productivity goals and is responsible for keeping the work area organized and maintained, accurately recording time worked, and following company policies and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic math skills for selecting, counting, and checking work.
• Basic PC knowledge, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with employees, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to use a computer and other office equipment to accomplish work tasks.
• Ability to adapt to change and work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to read, count, and write to complete documentation accurately.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as business dictates.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move merchandise weighing up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and crouch to retrieve or replenish merchandise.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs to retrieve or move merchandise.
• Ability to learn and operate general warehouse equipment, including RF devices and pallet jacks.
• Ability to perform duties in an environment that is not climate controlled and includes exposure to dust, odors, and noise.

• Prior retail distribution experience.
• Experience with warehouse management systems and handheld devices.
