About The Position

Founded in 1891 by a group of visionary volunteers, The Trustees of Reservations (The Trustees) is Massachusetts’ premier conservation and preservation organization. The Trustees’ preserves, for public use and enjoyment, properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value in Massachusetts. The Trustees aim to protect special places for future generations to enjoy in perpetuity, and have helped protect more than 50,000 acres, including 27,000+ acres on more than 120 reservations that are open to the public. As a non-profit conservation organization, we are funded and supported entirely by our visitors, supporters, volunteers, and our 100,000 Member households. Over the past three years, Halloween on the Hill has become an extremely popular family friendly event bringing significant awareness and visitation to Long Hil. Nearly 2,000 carved pumpkins are displayed creatively in throughout the trail and the large-scale sets are an audience draw. A similar event takes place at Naumkeag in Stockbridge. The event brings over 25,000 visitors to Long Hill throughout October. Halfway through the trail, our concessions tent offers refreshments including cider, cider doughnuts, popcorn, candy, etc. The concessions manager has a key role as they manage a team of three Signature Event Assistants each night to set up for the event, ensure smooth operations throughout the event, and close at the end of the night. The concessions manager is also the primary cashier and reconciles sales at the end of the evening. The Concessions Manager should be available most nights although some shifts can be covered if necessary. The role would begin a week prior to the start of the event for training, organizing and set up and can go through mid-November to assist with breakdown.
