About The Position

The Seasonal Cashier Team Member supports The Fresh Market’s stores during key business periods and helps create a warm, welcoming, memorable shopping experience through exceptional personal service. Seasonal team members may work in Grocery, Guest Service (Front End), Early Morning Production, or Produce, and may provide counter support in Deli, Bakery, or Meat & Seafood. This is a temporary role, and employment may conclude at the end of the seasonal business period. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

The role involves assisting guests with meal solutions, maintaining product and weekly-ad knowledge, stocking and merchandising, and performing cashier and food-preparation duties as needed. Team members must follow uniform and protective-equipment requirements and be able to perform the listed physical tasks and work conditions. Requirements

• Passion for providing extraordinary service.
• At least 16 years of age; at least 18 years of age for work in Deli, Bakery, or Produce.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, grasp, bend, and reach.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to spend long periods on one’s feet and stand or walk without a break for up to four hours or as required by law.
• Ability to work with exposure to extreme temperatures.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest service by engaging with guests to understand their wants and needs and help them create meal solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of store products and weekly ad items and work across departments to assist guests.
• Safely handle food products for guest sampling.
• Merchandise and stock products and specialty items throughout the day while assisting nearby guests.
• Weigh and scan products, handle cash, and provide change when appropriate.
• Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and perform general housekeeping duties throughout the store.
• Slice and prepare department meats, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions while maintaining quality product levels.
• Present oneself professionally and adhere to uniform standards.
• Wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment as required.
