About The Position

The Fresh Market is hiring seasonal team members to support its stores during key business periods. Team members may work in Grocery, Guest Service (Front End), Early Morning Production, or Produce, and may provide counter support in Deli, Bakery, or Meat & Seafood. This temporary role is not a regular, permanent position, and employment may end when the seasonal business period concludes. The position requires a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.

Team members provide personal service and help guests find products and create meal solutions. They maintain knowledge of store products and weekly ad items, assist across departments, handle and sample food safely, stock and merchandise products, process purchases and cash, and perform general store duties. Departmental work may include slicing and preparing meat, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions while maintaining product quality. Team members are expected to maintain a professional appearance and follow uniform standards.

Requirements

• Passion for providing extraordinary service.
• At least 16 years of age; at least 18 years of age for work in Deli, Bakery, or Produce.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements, grasp, bend, and reach.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently.
• Ability to spend extended periods on one's feet and stand or walk without a break for up to four hours or as required by law.
• Wear an approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment.
• Ability to use knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment, unless under age 18.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent, personal guest service and engage with guests to understand their wants and needs.
• Help guests create meal solutions and maintain knowledge of store products and weekly ad items.
• Work across departments to assist guests.
• Safely handle food products for guest sampling.
• Merchandise and stock products and specialty items throughout the day while assisting nearby guests.
• Weigh and scan products, handle cash, and provide change where appropriate.
• Gather shopping carts from the parking lot and assist with general housekeeping throughout the store.
• Slice and prepare department meats, cheeses, and convenient meal solutions while maintaining quality product levels.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards.
