About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic seasonal cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide customers with an excellent shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service, process purchases, follow cash and line policies, and complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized according to merchandising plans; they must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. Both roles support operational efficiency and loss-prevention goals, follow company policies and product-handling guidelines, maintain store and merchandising standards, help provide a safe working environment, and perform general cleaning tasks. The position is part-time, averages fewer than 30 hours per week, and starts at $18.50 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance and meet availability requirements.
Ability to perform required physical tasks, including pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, grasping, twisting, bending, and moving between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Stocker availability to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service; escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with company policies and processes.
Help maintain a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zones and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product-handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
Follow cash policies and procedures and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering orders to customers’ vehicles in a timely manner.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Operate store equipment, including cash registers, hand jacks, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
