About The Position

ALDI is hiring enthusiastic seasonal cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide customers with a positive shopping experience. Cashiers deliver friendly, efficient checkout service; stockers keep shelves stocked and organized. Both roles support smooth store operations and customer service. This is a part-time position averaging fewer than 30 hours per week, with a starting wage of $19.00 per hour. Employees perform their duties with or without reasonable accommodation and follow company policies, processes, inventory procedures, product-handling guidelines, and store cleanliness and merchandising standards. They support store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals, help maintain a safe working environment, and raise customer-service concerns as needed. Cashier duties include using the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately, following cash and checkout-line policies, opening additional lanes when needed, and fulfilling curbside pickup orders. Stocker duties include neatly stocking shelves and displays according to merchandising planograms. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks productively within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance and meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.
Ability to use glass and multipurpose cleaning products.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service, and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Follow company policies and processes, inventory procedures, and product-handling guidelines.
Help maintain a safe workplace by identifying and rectifying hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zones and merchandising standards and perform general cleaning to company standards.
As a cashier, use the point-of-sale system to scan and process purchases accurately and report scanning concerns or errors to management.
As a cashier, follow cash policies and checkout-line procedures, opening additional lanes when required.
As a cashier, retrieve and verify curbside pickup orders and deliver them promptly to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
As a stocker, stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
Arrive for stocker shifts as early as 5:00 a.m.
