About The Position

ALDI is hiring seasonal cashiers and stockers to support store operations and provide an excellent customer shopping experience. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service and may complete curbside pickup orders. Stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized according to merchandising plans. Both roles support operational efficiency and loss-prevention goals, follow company policies and procedures, maintain safety and merchandising standards, handle inventory and products appropriately, and perform general cleaning. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m. The position is part-time, averaging fewer than 30 hours per week, with a starting wage of $19.50 per hour. Duties must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
• Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
• Ability to interpret and apply operating policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with others.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
• Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance and meet availability requirements.
• Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas; lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
• Ability to work in freezer and cooler environments and stock products in varying temperatures.
• Stockers must be able to arrive at work as early as 5:00 a.m.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service; escalate concerns to store management as needed.
• Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
• Follow established company policies, processes, cash procedures, and inventory and product-handling guidelines.
• Support a safe work environment by identifying and correcting hazards, using proper ergonomics, and keeping equipment in proper working order.
• Maintain store zone and merchandising standards and perform general cleaning to company standards.
• Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases, and report scanning concerns or errors to store management.
• Follow the checkout line policy and open additional lanes as needed.
• Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them to customers’ vehicles from the staging area in a timely manner.
• Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
