About The Position

ALDI is hiring seasonal cashiers and stockers to help provide an excellent customer shopping experience and maintain smooth store operations. Cashiers provide friendly, efficient checkout service; stockers keep shelves and displays stocked and organized. Both roles support customer service, operational efficiency, loss prevention, safety, store standards, inventory procedures, product handling, and general cleaning. The position is part-time, with fewer than 30 average hours per week, and starts at $19.50 per hour. Stockers must be able to arrive as early as 5:00 a.m.

Requirements

At least 18 years old.
Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.
Ability to operate store equipment, including cash registers, floor scrubbers, cardboard balers, pallet jacks, handheld devices, and computers.
Ability to interpret and apply ALDI operating policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow instructions and pay attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks within established timeframes.
Ability to maintain reliable and prompt attendance and meet availability requirements.
Ability to push, pull, sit, stand, reach, grasp, twist, bend, and move between areas.
Ability to lift, carry, and place products weighing up to 45 pounds on shelves at various heights, including overhead.
Ability to stock products in varying temperatures, including freezer and cooler environments.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior work experience in a retail environment.

Responsibilities

Model and fulfill customer service principles and escalate concerns to store management as necessary.
Assist store management in achieving operational efficiency and total loss goals.
Comply with established company policies and processes.
Support a safe working environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order.
Maintain store zone and merchandising standards.
Follow inventory procedures and product handling guidelines.
Perform general cleaning tasks to company standards.
Use the point-of-sale system to accurately scan and process purchases and inform store management of scanning concerns or errors.
Follow cash policies and procedures, adhere to the line policy, and open additional checkout lanes as required.
Complete curbside pickup orders by retrieving and verifying items and delivering them to customers’ vehicles from the staging area.
Stock shelves and displays neatly according to merchandising planograms.
