About The Position

Ag-Land FS, Inc. is seeking seasonal employees to support its agronomy operations during peak periods. This role involves operating trucks to deliver and pick up agronomy and energy products between company sites and customer locations. Seasonal employees will also assist with general facility and operational tasks as needed. This position is ideal for individuals with agricultural experience looking for seasonal work and hands-on experience in agronomy operations. The company offers opportunities to obtain a CDL, including a restricted Class B CDL with HAZMAT endorsement, and potential pathways to future full-time roles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of related work experience demonstrating knowledge of and ability to safely operate tractor-trailer or tender truck equipment and meet company and DOT standards.
  • Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making, and skill development.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements, any other applicable certification, license, or permit, a valid medical card, and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work extended hours and be on-call as business conditions warrant.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain other applicable certifications, licenses, and permits.
  • Occasionally exposed or required to extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.), noisy conditions, dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures.
  • May be required to work at varying heights.
  • Ability to lift 51-70 lbs.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Operates all assigned vehicles, including single, tandem, or multi-axle configurations, and forklifts, in accordance with safety standards and proper operation techniques.
  • Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicles and equipment, including pre-trip inspections of fuel, oil, tires, lights, and brakes.
  • Follows the preventative maintenance program and maintains a clean truck for a professional appearance.
  • Loads and unloads containers, pallets, materials, and products safely onto trucks, trailers, or railcars by hand or forklift.
  • Ensures loads are evenly balanced and distributed, and axle weights comply with DOT regulations.
  • Makes deliveries and pickups according to schedules, promoting superior customer service and professionalism.
  • Completes and returns all associated documentation, such as bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices, accurately at the end of the day.
  • Completes necessary paperwork, including accurate logbooks, cargo records, and other assigned record-keeping duties daily.
  • Maintains company equipment according to company standards.
  • Adheres to the company Uniform Policy and maintains an appropriate professional image.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
