About The Position

Alterations Specialists complete fittings and alterations to David’s Bridal’s high standards and report to the Store Manager. They exemplify friendly, knowledgeable service and technical expertise, provide superior customer service, and contribute as members of the store team while representing the David’s Bridal brand. The role involves advising customers on gown fit and customization, performing garment alterations and related services, and helping deliver a polished shopping experience.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1–2 years of prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
Prior sewing experience.
Ability to perform sewing and fittings to David’s Bridal standards.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Ability to use POS terminals, computers, electronic devices, and phones, and to handle the manual tasks described for the role.

Nice To Haves

Prior sewing experience in a bridal and/or special occasion production environment is preferred.
Prior experience with a computerized POS system is a plus.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers by phone, virtual chat, and in person with genuine, friendly enthusiasm; communicate clearly, adapt to customers’ needs, problem-solve, and resolve conflicts.
Use systems to manage customer flow and deliver a five-star customer experience.
Maintain service levels by being prepared, welcoming, meeting customer needs, and completing operational checklist tasks.
Provide exceptional service to multiple customers at once and contribute to the store’s Five-Star Customer Service achievement.
Address customer concerns proactively, and escalate or partner with the leadership team when appropriate.
Explain how alterations can perfect a dress for an event and promote alteration services and personalization options.
Assist stylists in closing sales by consulting with customers about gown fit and customization.
Maintain store standards and comply with the Dress Code Policy.
Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
Inspect altered, steamed, and pressed garments to verify their condition before delivery.
Respond promptly to customer questions with product and service information, and build long-term customer relationships.
Process special orders and pickups, maintain inventory, and ensure merchandise meets first-quality standards.
Ensure alteration pricing follows company standards.
Manage alterations, fittings, sewing, steaming, pressing, and spot cleaning according to company standards.
Resolve customer service issues swiftly and effectively in accordance with company guidelines.
Support cash-wrap behaviors and process transactions accurately.
Keep the alterations room clean and well-organized.
Perform other duties and tasks assigned by store management.
