About The Position

The Seafood Manager oversees daily seafood department operations, supporting sales goals and ensuring high standards for freshness, merchandising, customer service, and department execution. The position is hands-on and fast-paced, with responsibility for department readiness, product quality, and associate support.

The manager provides customer service, coordinates associate training and scheduling, prepares and merchandises seafood products, manages inventory and orders, monitors freshness and temperatures, and maintains clean, compliant work areas. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required. Travel is not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Seafood Department operations, focusing on customer service, freshness, and department readiness.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and helpful service, responding to customer requests and special orders.
• Coordinate training, scheduling, and task assignments for seafood clerks to support department coverage.
• Execute merchandising programs, displays, and pricing according to company guidelines.
• Prepare seafood items by cutting, weighing, wrapping, labeling, and stocking displays.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including cases, preparation areas, and equipment.
• Monitor product freshness and remove unsellable or expired items.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, and receipt of shipments to maintain in-stock conditions.
• Track and log required cooler and freezer temperature checks.
• Maintain department signage and communication updates.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety requirements, and operational standards.
