About The Position

The Development & Engagement Intern supports the Annual Giving team by promoting a culture of philanthropy among students, with a focus on the senior class. Responsibilities include leading the Senior Legacy Campaign, recruiting student volunteers, managing the Senior Legacy Committee, and coordinating events such as the Senior Greek Theatre Party. This role offers hands-on experience in fundraising, event planning, marketing, and nonprofit operations. Ideal candidates are outgoing, organized leaders who can effectively communicate the impact of giving to their peers.

Requirements

  • Rising senior (Class of 2027)
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; able to connect with and motivate diverse student groups
  • Confident using Canva and Instagram; comfortable creating engaging content, speaking to groups, and encouraging peer participation
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and assist with data collection and reporting
  • Demonstrates maturity, sound judgment, and initiative

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a peer ambassador for giving and engage students in conversations about supporting Richmond
  • Plan and execute fundraising events and incentives for seniors
  • Recruit and manage volunteers on the Senior Legacy Committee
  • Collaborate with staff to meet department goals
