About The Position

ON.energy is seeking a Scrum Master to support its Product and Program Management organization. The role drives agile execution across product and program teams, owns intake of business requests into product and program backlogs, safeguards consistent agile practices, and partners with leadership to align roadmaps, program milestones, and sprint priorities with changing business needs. The Scrum Master acts as a facilitator, process steward, and cross-functional coordinator, influencing people without direct authority. The position is accountable for intake, triage, traceability, and status communication for requests from engineering, operations, sales, field service, partners, and customers. It maintains the structure and integrity of Azure DevOps work items and coordinates agile practices, backlog coaching, Scrum events, delivery metrics, portfolio prioritization, cross-team dependencies, release plans, milestone schedules, and RAID logs. The role also removes impediments, supports continuous improvement, and provides transparent reporting to teams and leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Project Manager, or in a similar role, ideally supporting product management or a PMO.
  • Hands-on experience managing backlogs, work item hierarchies, and workflows in Azure DevOps.
  • Strong working knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, and broader agile frameworks, including coordinating multiple teams.
  • Understanding of the product lifecycle and program management fundamentals, including roadmapping, release planning, milestone tracking, and dependency management.
  • Sufficient technical understanding of ON.energy products and systems to triage requests, scope and prioritize work, and communicate credibly with engineers; hands-on engineering or software development is not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and influence managers and peers without direct authority.
  • Excellent organizational, facilitation, and communication skills, including the ability to present status to senior leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent agile certification; SAFe (SSM, SPC), CSPO, or PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience with scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe and PI planning.
  • Experience in a technical or engineering environment delivering products spanning software, hardware, and industrial systems.
  • Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI for tracking delivery and portfolio metrics.
  • Exposure to energy management systems, battery energy storage, power electronics, or industrial control environments such as SCADA or PLCs.
  • Fluency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for requests submitted to Product and Program Management from internal teams, partners, and customers.
  • Triage and categorize incoming requests, map them to the appropriate backlog item or roadmap epic, and maintain auditable traceability.
  • Maintain Azure DevOps data integrity by consistently structuring and linking epics, features, and stories and preventing duplicate or orphaned requests.
  • Track requests through resolution and communicate their status to stakeholders.
  • Ensure product managers, program managers, and team leads apply agile and Scrum practices consistently and correctly.
  • Coach product owners on backlog refinement, user story writing, and acceptance criteria, and coach program managers on integrating agile delivery with program milestones and stage-gate reviews.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement, release planning, and quarterly or PI planning.
  • Define, monitor, and report agile health and delivery metrics, including velocity, cycle time, throughput, predictability, and backlog hygiene.
  • Partner with product and program leadership to evaluate and reprioritize backlogs as customer needs, market conditions, and business priorities change.
  • Facilitate transparent trade-off discussions across competing product and program priorities, considering urgency, capacity, customer commitments, and business value.
  • Translate roadmap and portfolio decisions into actionable changes to team sprints and backlogs.
  • Coordinate across product and program managers to maintain organizational alignment and focus on high-value work.
  • Identify, track, and help resolve dependencies across product, hardware, software, controls, and operations teams.
  • Support program managers in maintaining release plans, milestone schedules, and RAID logs.
  • Report status that connects sprint-level progress to program milestones and roadmap commitments.
  • Remove impediments and shield teams from disruption so they can focus on delivery.
  • Foster continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Maintain clear, up-to-date dashboards and reporting for teams and leadership.
