About The Position

As part of our Medical Scribe program, you play a vital role in supporting physicians and health care providers while gaining first-hand knowledge and practical experience in the field. This role offers firsthand exposure to a clinical setting for undergraduates or post baccalaureate students pursuing a career in healthcare. It is a great opportunity for students taking time off before Medical, PA or NP school. Scribe hours are counted towards clinical training for most PA and medical school programs. You will work one-on-one with physicians and other health care providers, become proficient in medical terminology, and gain a competitive edge for future programs. This position also offers outstanding networking and resume building opportunities, and connections with scribe alumni for mentorship. A scribe application test is required.

Requirements

• Responsible and mature demeanor with a passion for medicine.
• Strong writing skills.
• Quick and accurate typing speed.
• Each scribe works 2-3 shifts per week (including weekends and a holiday).
• Ability to stand, walk and follow a physician for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in a stressful and fast paced environment.
• 1 year commitment at this site, continuous one year, not a summer position.
• Excellent follow through.
• Self-motivated.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with medical terminology, human anatomy and human physiology is preferred.
