The Screw Machine Operator is responsible for operating single or multiple spindle lathe type screw machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanisms to machine metal bar stock. This includes loading and unloading parts, basic part inspection using hard gauges and measurement tools, routine 6S, laboring on/off, transacting completions and scrap, part quality inspection using a CMM, changing broken/worn tools, performing minor preventive maintenance, following setup instructions to switch between jobs, interpreting CMM reports, making CNC program offsets for shift/drift or tool length/wear compensation, and making basic CNC program changes.
