Job Summary: CancerCare Manitoba is seeking a Project Coordinator to support the planning, implementation, and delivery of cancer prevention and screening programs. Specific projects will depend on program priorities and may include: Planning and managing projects, from concept to implementation. This could include coordinating activities, managing budgets, writing reports, hosting meetings, communicating with partners, and evaluating activities and progress. Collaborating and consensus-building with health system administrators, healthcare providers, and patient advisors. Developing knowledge products, including standard operating procedures, briefing notes, and reports. Managing operations, including training and supervising staff, coordinating schedules, overseeing IT registry changes, and monitoring budgets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related related discipline or any bachelor’s degree combined with health care experience (equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • At least 3 years of experience in program planning and implementation, public health, or project coordination
  • At least 3 years of experience supervising staff
  • Experience leading and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, meet deadlines, and problem-solve
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must have satisfactory employment record
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of cancer screening, public/population health, or cancer prevention
  • Experience developing, updating and using client registry systems
  • Knowledge and experience with change management
  • Proven track record in facilitation of key experts and stakeholders, including First Nation, Metis, and Inuit partners
  • Experience working in healthcare and knowledge of the Manitoba healthcare system
  • Experience working with large databases and client registries
  • Experience working with the public
  • Experience with budgeting, quality assurance, or evaluation
  • Bilingual (French/English)
