About The Position
Southwest Barricades is seeking an experienced Screed Operator to join our paving crew. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating the screed on asphalt pavers and a strong understanding of grade, slope, and material consistency to ensure a smooth, high-quality finish.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Screed Operator required
- Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes
- Ability to read grade stakes and work to specifications
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Operate and control the screed on asphalt paving machines
- Ensure proper depth, grade, and slope of asphalt placement
- Work closely with the paving crew, foreman, and equipment operators
- Monitor material flow and make adjustments as needed
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
- Follow all safety procedures and job site protocols
