Working hands-on with multidisciplinary Chemical Process Development teams, the scientist prepares, scales up, and executes processes supporting the manufacture of GMP active drug substance for pharmaceutical development. The role leads and coordinates manufacturing campaigns, including process design and scale-up, equipment selection and setup, materials planning, process-safety evaluation, recipe development, batch execution, equipment cleaning, process documentation, and post-campaign assessment. Scientists execute processes from laboratory scale through 200L and work directly with processing equipment during campaign preparation and manufacturing. The role combines scientific understanding, practical problem-solving, and mechanical aptitude with a commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The Kilo Lab also provides opportunities to evaluate and implement emerging manufacturing technologies and methodologies. The scientist may assume roles in Chemical Development Engineering, supporting scale-up experience, operational and equipment knowledge, scale-up risk understanding, safe and scalable process development, and technology-transfer capabilities across the organization.
