About The Position

The Kilo Lab Scientist translates laboratory-developed chemical processes into safe, robust, and executable manufacturing processes in the New Brunswick Kilo Lab and beyond. Working hands-on with multidisciplinary Chemical Process Development teams, the scientist prepares, scales up, and executes processes supporting the manufacture of GMP active drug substance for pharmaceutical development. The role spans process execution from laboratory scale through 200L and involves direct work with processing equipment throughout campaign preparation and manufacturing. The scientist leads and coordinates manufacturing campaigns, including process design and scale-up, equipment selection and setup, materials planning, process-safety evaluation, recipe development, batch execution, equipment cleaning, process documentation, and post-campaign assessment. The position calls for scientific understanding, practical problem-solving, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance. The Kilo Lab also offers opportunities to evaluate and implement emerging manufacturing technologies and methodologies. The scientist may support Chemical Development Engineering, transfer and scale-up activities, operational and equipment knowledge development, scale-up risk assessment, safe process development, and technology transfer across the organization.
