About The Position

Legend Biotech is seeking a Scientist, In Vivo CAR-T as part of the Research team based in Somerset, NJ. Legend Biotech is at the forefront of developing innovative cell-based therapies. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced scientist to support our in vivo CAR-T cell therapy program. This role is well-suited for a driven researcher with a strong foundation in immunology, molecular biology, and virology who is eager to contribute to the development of next-generation cell therapies. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing our in vivo cell therapy platform by performing lentiviral vector production and developing ex vivo and in vitro functional assays to evaluate product potency and safety. You will work collaboratively across research and development teams to help translate preclinical findings into clinical applications. This position requires hands-on laboratory expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to independently execute experiments while contributing to a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • OR Master’s degree with 3–6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience in immunology, cell therapy, gene therapy, or related fields.
  • Experience with viral vector systems (especially lentivirus) is highly preferred.
  • Industry or postdoctoral experience is a plus.
  • Cell biology and molecular biology techniques.
  • Virology and viral vector systems (e.g., lentivirus).
  • Mammalian cell culture and immune cell handling.
  • Flow cytometry and immunoassays.
  • Strong data analysis, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize cell-based assays to support cell therapy programs.
  • Perform immune cell isolation, activation, expansion, and T cell culture.
  • Conduct lentiviral vector packaging, titration, and transduction experiments.
  • Execute assays including multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, cytotoxicity assays, and PCR.
  • Design and carry out experiments with moderate independence; analyze and interpret data.
  • Document experimental results clearly and present findings to team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate constructs and generate reproducible data.
  • Support progression of research programs from discovery toward early development.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and scientific advancements.
  • Provide general laboratory support as needed.
  • Work closely with internal research teams and cross-functional partners (e.g., development, manufacturing).
  • Contribute to team discussions, troubleshooting, and project execution.
