About The Position

Parexel FSP is seeking a Scientist III specializing in Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and Analytical Support. This role will be a full-time employee of Parexel FSP, working on-site at a client location in West Point, PA. The position involves providing technical professionals to support the development and delivery of new therapies within the CMC Operations group. Parexel FSP partners with pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical companies, focusing on scientists and engineers in discovery and development, with a patient-centric approach.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemistry or related field with 3-5 years of experience; M.S. with 1-2 years of experience.
  • Experienced in analytical characterization techniques.
  • Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) experience with Waters, Sciex, or Agilent LC-MS instrumentation and software.
  • Reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC).
  • Sample preparation and handling.
  • Plate-based analytical methods.
  • Experience with operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS).
  • Highly organized, and capable of multi-tasking to manage system related schedules, documents, and maintenance tasks for multiple instruments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver on multiple priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to end-user repair calls for Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) and troubleshoot/repair simple issues such as leaks or clogs.
  • Check instrument performance and suitability as needed.
  • Submit and coordinate repair tickets for more complex issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Perform sample preparations for routine analysis, including total protein, enzymatic digests, and electrophoresis.
  • Conduct Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis of vaccine samples as needed.
  • Perform biophysical sample testing as needed, including particle size and thermal stability analysis.
  • Provide general lab support, which may include organization of pipette calibration, ordering lab supplies, general lab maintenance, COSMIC organization, and shipping.
